Project on the use of linked data (and radio) in Africa
The Free University of Amsterdam (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) involved in a project in the area of use of Web development, which is to use the local community radio and mobile technology to allow the exchange of information through the Web addition using linked data and crowdsourcing. It is very new, because given the fact that technology use has increased in many African countries is the radio and phones but no Internet, sought a creative way how to integrate them. This idea have called "downscaling the Semantic Web".
The project includes several work areas, among which the research is "spoken web" web of sounds and speech, for those who can not read or write.
